Follow My Steps Foundation is assembling a select group of experienced and mission-driven individuals to join our Step Forward Council—a new event committee designed to elevate our signature programs and fundraising initiatives to the next level.

About the Step Forward Council:

The Step Forward Council is a dynamic collective of professionals, community influencers, and engaged parents who will help guide the structure, promotion, and implementation of Follow My Steps’ events. Members of this council will serve as strategic advisors, fundraisers, ambassadors, and logistical collaborators to enhance attendance, increase funds raised, and grow awareness around our impactful work.

About Follow My Steps:

Follow My Steps Foundation is committed to empowering under-resourced youth through mentorship, career skills, and financial resources. Our events—such as the Mentoring Matters 5K, Shooting for Success, and Girls Unite—combine community celebration with practical support for youth, families, and neighborhoods across Massachusetts.

Role Overview:

Council Members will work collaboratively with the Follow My Steps team to:

• Lead and advise event execution efforts

• Expand donor and partner networks

• Promote event awareness through personal and professional networks

• Support volunteer recruitment and on-site logistics

• Advocate for the mission through storytelling and community presence

Key Responsibilities:

• Event Leadership: Advise on themes, schedules, and structures to maximize impact and efficiency.

• Fundraising Support: Help drive sponsorships, in-kind donations, and peer-to-peer campaigns.

• Community Engagement: Represent the foundation at events, spread the word about our mission, and connect us to potential partners or sponsors.

• Planning Input: Attend monthly virtual meetings and contribute to quarterly goal-setting and recaps.

• Onsite Participation: Assist with setup, breakdown, and activation during live events (when possible).

Ideal Members:

• Have strong community, professional, or organizational ties

• Are passionate about youth development and equity

• Can commit to 1 meeting/month + assist with 2–3 events per year

• Enjoy collaborative planning and mission-driven execution
