Tyrone Williams
FOUNDER, VICE PRESIDENT, TREASURER, BOARD MEMBER
Born in Jacksonville, FL, and grown in Boston, MA, Tyrone is the middle child in one of eight siblings. In his younger years, Tyrone faced and overcame many difficult environmental circumstances including homelessness, drug abuse, gangs, and most determinantal, lack of role models. Tyrone attended Boston Latin Academy for freshmen and Sophomore year before graduating from The English High School in 2012. Alumni of The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with degrees in Operations Management(B.S) '17 and a Masters of Business Administration '18 graduating manga cum laude. Following receiving an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Tyrone joined Pratt & Whitney’s Aftermarket Operations Development Program. During this two year engagement(8-month rotations), Tyrone has held progressive positions of responsibility. The titles held during the program include Operations Specialist, in Springdale, AR, where Tyrone lead a manufacturing Greenfield project centered around ACE (Achieving Competitive Excellence) principals. Tyrone has mastered the beginning principles(Assicoaite) of ACE. Tyrone’s second rotation in West Palm Beach, Florida, presented an opportunity for experience in Warehousing and Supply Chain Management. Tyrone held responsibility for process start and closure, which included engine material movement for disposition, repair/overhaul, storage, and staging for the build. Following the Materials Specialist position, Tyrone entered his last rotation as a Cell Leader (Supervisor) of a production cell at the East Hartford main campus. There Tyrone has overseen the repair of various engine hardware (F117, F135, PW1100, PW1500, PW4000) and managed their movement through this unique steam. Currently, Tyrone works in GTF Aftermarket Network Operations, assisting engine centers and partners across the P&W network to achieve company objectives through strategic business planning. Although Tyrone has created a promising future, the level of effort and barriers presented were very difficult to overcome. Tyrone has developed a passion for community engagement from understanding the potential for growth in the under-resourced communities in which he was raised, which spawned Follow My Steps. Tyrone, along with like-minded counterparts, aims to break barriers create a pipeline for younger achievers to have influence and control in their environment.
