Tyrone’s journey from Jacksonville, FL, to Boston is a testament to his dedication to community engagement and professional excellence. After relocating to Boston in his teenage years, Tyrone pursued his education at English High School, where he laid the foundation for a successful career. His academic journey continued at UMass Dartmouth, where he earned both a bachelor’s degree in Operations Management and an MBA, setting the stage for his future endeavors.
Tyrone began his career at Pratt & Whitney, a prestigious aviation repair company. During his two-year tenure, he embraced progressive roles that showcased his versatility and leadership. As a Strategic Business Analyst, he leveraged data visualization tools and conducted in-depth analysis to support decision-making processes. His role as Cell Lead involved managing manufacturing workflows and optimizing efficiency through lean project management principles. In West Palm Beach, Florida, as a Project Manager, he implemented lean techniques to enhance supply chain processes and oversaw significant capital budget projects, demonstrating his capability to handle complex challenges. Currently, Tyrone serves as the U.S. Small Business Development Specialist for Massachusetts. In this role, he provides tailored guidance to small businesses, aiding their development of effective strategies for federal contracting and compliance with SBA regulations. His responsibilities include conducting in-depth research, coordinating specialized training, and offering comprehensive advice on marketing and contract administration. Tyrone’s commitment to community service is exemplified by his role as a co-founder of Follow My Steps Foundation. The organization, established in August 2020, aims to empower youth in underserved communities by providing mentorship, career skills, and financial resources. Tyrone spearheaded the creation of the “Thrive Over Survive” mentorship program and has built valuable partnerships with local colleges and businesses to enhance professional development opportunities for high school-aged youth. In addition to his work with Follow My Steps, Tyrone previously held a position as Special Assistant to the Chief Worker Empowerment Cabinet for the City of Boston. There, he managed various aspects of departmental operations, including event coordination, community outreach, and IT support, demonstrating his ability to multitask and contribute to the city’s workforce development efforts. Tyrone’s dedication to community engagement has earned him several prestigious awards, including the Brianna Foundation, Celtics Heroes Among Us, and Patriots Difference Makers awards. Outside of his professional life, he is an avid 5K runner, reader, and mentor, reflecting his commitment to personal growth and community well-being. With his diverse skills in nonprofit organizations, project management, curriculum development, and public speaking, Tyrone continues to break barriers and create impactful opportunities for younger generations, embodying his belief in the power of community and personal development. |
