Tyrone Williams

Tyrone, the United States Small Business Development Specialist for Massachusetts, is a distinguished professional with a passion for community engagement and development. Hailing from Jacksonville, FL, he relocated to Boston in his teen years, where he completed his education, graduating from the English High School and eventually UMass Dartmouth. Tyrone entered the manufacturing workspace and obtained a bachelor's degree in Operations Management and an MBA. He began his career at Pratt & Whitney, a world-renowned aviation repair company, where he held progressive positions of responsibility during a two-year engagement, including Operations Specialist in Springdale, AR, where he led manufacturing Greenfield projects, and experience in Warehousing and Supply Chain Management in West Palm Beach, Florida. He also served as a Cell Leader (Supervisor) of a production cell at the East Hartford main campus, overseeing the repair of various engine hardware (F117, F135, PW1100, PW1500, PW4000).
Tyrone has received community awards including the Brianna Foundation, Celtics Heroes Among Us, and Patriots Difference Makers awards. He is an avid 5K runner, reader, and mentor. Currently, Tyrone works for the City of Boston, enhancing workforce development efforts. He has developed a passion for community engagement through understanding the potential for growth in under-resourced communities. As someone from the same environment, he understood that change was needed, which spawned Follow My Steps. Tyrone, along with like-minded counterparts, aims to break barriers and create a pipeline for younger achievers to have influence and control in their environment. |
